Let’s Discuss the End Scenes and Credits of the Film Venom: The Last Dance

The Poison: The Last Dance This may well be the case for this iteration of the character, but certainly Venom will continue. The post-credit scenes and ending of the film hint at where things could go in the future, and with the film now playing in theaters, it’s time to talk about it. The main spoilers below.

In the big finale of the film, Venom separates from Eddie and dies, alongside all the evil beings that Knull sent to secure the manuscript held by the couple. With the death of one of them (in this case Venom), the manuscript disappears again and Knull remains locked in his unbreakable cocoon. Eddie then goes to New York as per their plan, and that’s all she wrote.

Or is it? We clearly see that the character of Dr. Teddy Bowen played by Juno Temple has survived and still possesses a symbiote inside her. The film somewhat explains why Venom and Eddie kept the manuscript because Venom used his powers to bring Eddie back to life, which was the key to unlocking this special manuscript. So, with the human remaining and coexisting, there is a possibility of a resurrection, hence the manuscript still exists. This gives hope to Knull, leading to the first final credit scene.

The first post-credit scene shows Knull still in prison, promising to break out and that “the world will burn.” He then looks up to reveal his menacing and threatening face. Essentially, the scene hints that The Poison: The Last Dance introduced this supervillain without truly utilizing him, as he is still on the table and may be seen again in the future.

This is followed by the second post-credit scene of the film, which shows the character of the waitress played by Cristo Fernández escaping from Area 55 after the battle. Earlier in the film, a version of this universe’s character was held captive, but this story never ends. It happens here, but not before we also see a piece of the symbiote likely to enter a cockroach. Is this how Venom will survive? It seems possible.

Essentially, The Last Dance seems to be Eddie Brock’s last dance for Tom Hardy, but in the Marvel multiverse, there are still symbiotes, humans bonded to symbiotes, and a malevolent entity that can control or destroy any of them.

Personally, I found the above interesting. The best part of The Poison: The Last Dance is the “Memories” montage by Maroon 5 showing Eddie reminiscing all the good times with Venom. It’s an amazing, emotional, and satisfying conclusion for this version of the character, unlikely to top moving forward, even with all the loose ends.
