Lego Company unveils a massive set of Marvel X-Men X-Mansion

Just when you think you’ve given all the shelf space you can spare to building a meticulous Lego… along comes the X-Mansion. All 3093 pieces of it. Will you need mutant powers to assemble this? It’s possible!

Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, or Xavier’s Institute for Higher Learning, or simply X-Mansion, depending on the context and/or your preferences, has recently had its time in the spotlight in the Disney+ Marvel series The 97th Men, but it has also had a significant presence in the X-Men comics and live-action movies. It stands as a hub for mutant activity, often targeted by enemies – a fact that the Lego Marvel X-Men: The X-Mansion takes into account quite a bit.

The Lego press release describes the set as a “creative and immersive building project” targeting adult Lego fans, which should be evident from the fact that, as we mentioned earlier, there are 3093 pieces to play with here. It also includes “a buildable Sentinel and 10 familiar minifigures – five of which are being debuted in a LEGO set for the first time.” Beginners are the likes of Professor X, Gambit, Iceman, Bishop, and a new take on Jean Gray. You can also get Wolverine, Magneto, Rogue, Storm, and Cyclops. You’ll also find “Cerebro, transformable Danger Room elements, an explosive dome structure, a motorcycle for Wolverine, (and) nods to the famous X-Men franchise.”

Lego Insiders can get their hands on it starting November 1st (here is the Lego link); it will be widely available on November 4th. It won’t be cheap ($330), but if you’re a Lego Insider and pick it up between November 1-7, you’ll also get the Lego Marvel Cerebro as part of the purchase.

Here’s a gallery of images showcasing the attention to detail that went into designing this thing, with plenty of action-ready moments at your fingertips. Or fight; if you want to recreate the Wolverine meme you know, the set comes with a tiny picture of all the longing looks the character can muster.

X-Mansion is set for an early November release, following a big October for Lego (including the $500 Lego Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Jabba’s Sail Barge, as well as more modestly priced sets Eternals and Fortnite), but November is edging closer to December, so it’s best to start gathering your holiday gifts when the moment is right.
