The upcoming DLC characters for the fighting game Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO from Bandai Namco Entertainment and Spike Chunsoft may have been revealed.
Data files from Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO hinted at the arrival of additional characters that will be released in the future through DLC. While developer Spike Chunsoft has removed any references to the upcoming downloadable content (DLC) featuring Super Hero and Daima, remnants of character names and identifiers from the cut content are still present in the game’s core data.
The screenshot below includes internal character names, some of which have not made their way to the final core game roster, indicating that they may be included in future downloadable content.
Alternative forms like Great Saiyaman 2, Supreme Kai, Super 17, and other Shadow Dragons are also mentioned in the core game roster. It seems that every missing veteran character from Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was planned to be included in Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO, likely to be eventually added through DLC.
Furthermore, there is strong evidence that Great Ape Goku and SSJ1 Caulifla were scrapped as transformations alongside the base forms of Garlic Jr., Frost, Ribrianne, Kakunsa, and Roasie. The mentioned character variants in the Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO roster are internally treated as first transformations rather than base forms.
