Several users of iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro are facing significant battery drain issues without a clear reason, according to complaints recorded on technical support forums and Reddit. While most complaints come from iPhone 16 users, some users of older devices running on iOS 18 are experiencing the same issue.
Battery drain complaints began to appear after the release of the beta update for iOS 18, but they worsened significantly with the release of the new system and the launch of iPhone 16 devices. Many users complain of a sharp decrease in battery level even in standby mode, as the device loses a significant percentage of charge without any actual usage.
One iPhone 16 Pro user expressed frustration, saying that his device’s battery drops to sixty percent within half a day without intensive usage, noting that he did not expect this issue from a new device and feels like he should have kept his old phone.
Another user confirms that the issue is not due to settings, as he has turned off background updates and set the refresh rate to sixty hertz, yet he has not seen any significant improvement in battery performance. Some users have indicated that enabling night mode or performing a factory reset helped improve battery performance, but did not completely resolve the issue.
Currently, it appears that this issue is linked to a software bug in iOS 18, and it has not been fully addressed in subsequent updates such as iOS 18.0.1 or the beta version of iOS 18.1. Users are hopeful that Apple will release a soon update to address this issue that negatively impacts the performance of their devices.
