If your Xiaomi phone has a screen protector of this type, you will lose the warranty.

When most users buy a mobile phone, the first thing we do is buy a case and screen protector. We use the device daily for many things, so it’s best to take care of it and protect it well.

However, if you have a Xiaomi phone, we have news that you might not like: Xiaomi may void the warranty of your mobile phone if you use liquid screen protectors.

So far, no manufacturer has put any limits on the screen protectors we can use on our phones. However, Xiaomi has now stated that no warranty will be valid for its devices if you use liquid screen protectors.

Xiaomi, through a statement posted on its official Redmi India account, advised against using liquid adhesive-based protectors on its mobile phones. The company revealed that these protectors could void the warranty on its devices, as during the application of the adhesive material, essential parts of the phones could be damaged: speaker holes, charging ports, physical buttons, and more.

Be cautious, Xiaomi does not automatically void the warranty for using a protector of this type. They will only do so if they determine that the installation of the protector is related to the issue that prompted you to seek warranty.

Now, while this may be somewhat bothersome to you, Xiaomi is partially justified in its stance. Screen protectors using liquid adhesive have a precise installation process. The adhesive material can seep through the screen if not careful and end up in places it shouldn’t be.

Therefore, if you choose one of these screen protectors, it is best to do so with a professional. We understand it’s hard to resist the temptation of using this type of protectors because they adhere better to the screen and leave no bubbles. However, the best recommendation is to choose other types of protective tools if you have a Xiaomi phone, as indicated by the brand itself.
