How to Use the Incognito Mode on Gmail
If you remember, in May of this year, specifically at the Google Developers Conference I/O 2018, Google announced the largest update to its email application, known as Gmail. As usual with most of Google’s major services, the features are announced first and then gradually rolled out to users across different operating systems.
Today’s article will focus on the benefits of this mode and how you as a user can leverage it, as well as how to compose a message or communicate with someone in Confidential mode?
What is Confidential mode in Gmail?
How to send messages and attachments using Confidential mode on desktop?
- Go to Gmail.
- Click on Compose.
- At the bottom right of the window, click on Turn on Confidential mode.
- If you have already turned on the Confidential mode for the email, go to the bottom of the email, then click on Edit.
Setting expiration date and password:
- If you choose “No SMS passcode,” recipients using the Gmail app will be able to open it directly, and the passcode will be sent via email to recipients not using Gmail.
- Click on Save.
Revoking access early:
You can stop recipients from viewing the email before the expiration date by:
- Open Gmail on your computer.
- On the right, click on “Sent.”
- Open the confidential email.
- Click on Revoke access.
