How to Use AI Overviews Now and Ahead of Everyone: Google’s New AI-Powered Search Engine
Google is ready to revolutionize its flagship product, search, through artificial intelligence. During the first day of Google I/O 2024, the company officially announced the arrival of AI Overview, a new search method that uses generative artificial intelligence to revolutionize the search experience by changing classic search result pages to other pages created by Google through artificial intelligence.
Although AI Overviews is initially available only in the United States, it is possible to experience this new search method in the rest of the world if you follow the right steps. We will explain how you can try out this feature integrated into the Google search engine yourself.
– Step-by-Step Experience of AI Overviews
First, it is necessary to highlight that since AI Overviews is only available in the United States, it will be necessary for the following process to use a VPN service that allows you to connect to a server located in the United States.
Once you use a VPN service and change the location to the United States, you can now follow the steps to test the artificial intelligence embedded in the Google search engine:
– In your browser, activate the VPN service and connect to a server hosted in the United States.
– Open Chrome browser, and go to Google Search Labs, where you will need to log in using your Google account.
– Under “Artificial Intelligence Experiments,” you will see a section called “AI Overview and More.” You need to click on the “Activate” button.
That’s it. With the experiment already activated, the next time you perform a search on Google (with VPN service activated), you will see a new section for AI Overview at the top of the results page, which may include a summary created by artificial intelligence and other additions that the language model used can consider relevant.
Since the experiments apply to the Google account you logged into, you will also see results created by artificial intelligence if you are searching on your mobile phone, as long as you are connected to a VPN server in the United States.
