How to Unlock All Character Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio – Part One
In the game Metaphor: ReFantazio, Archetypes represent a class or role system that determines the skills and abilities available to you. As you progress through the game, you can invest more effort to strengthen these Archetypes and expand their skill set with upgrades.
Each Archetype revolves around a general playstyle or traditional role in RPG games. As you advance in the game, you will unlock over 40 different Archetypes during your journey through the kingdom of Euchronia. Some are unique, while others are advanced forms of broader classes, like the Mage evolving into the Wizard and then the Elemental Master and Warlock.
At the start, you will have access to a few Archetypes, but your collection will quickly grow as you progress in the game. In this guide, we will show you how to unlock all the Archetypes that we have managed to unlock so far.
How to Unlock New Character Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio
You can unlock character Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio by strengthening your bonds with team members and other social connections throughout the kingdom of Euchronia. Advanced Archetypes that expand the skill set can be unlocked by strengthening these bonds further and leveling up the basic Archetypes within a certain class, usually to the maximum level (20). You will also need a significant amount of “MAG” points.
Simply engaging in battles with enemies will level up your Archetype as you play, and you can gather “MAG” points from battles and locations you visit in the cities, like shops and alleys. You can also acquire “MAG” points by converting money with specialized vendors who offer this service in various game locations.
Achieving these advanced upgrades will require a lot of effort and time, and you will need multiple playthroughs (New Game Plus) to fully level up each Archetype.

To unlock this Archetype, you need to raise your relationship level with More to level 3 and level up the basic Seeker Archetype to level 20. You also need to spend 8000 MAG points to unlock this Archetype from Akademeia.
Most of these requirements will be naturally met as you progress in the game, but if you strive to quickly raise your relationship with More, you will need to complete the tasks he assigns you in Akademeia regularly.
Soul Hacker:
The “Soul Hacker” Archetype is unlocked by raising your relationship level with More to level 7 and reaching level 20 with the Magic Seeker Archetype.

Mage:
The “Mage” Archetype is the basic Archetype that is automatically unlocked when you reach level 1 in your relationship with Gallica. This happens automatically as part of the story in Nord Mines after defeating Klinger.
So you cannot skip the Mage Archetype, as this part of the story occurs early after you acquire the Seeker Archetype.
