How to Enable or Disable Voice Reporting
Epic Games will not automatically record players’ voice conversations, but will only be able to access the recording if players send a voice report. However, players who are not comfortable with this can adjust their preferences in the settings.
To change the voice reporting settings in Fortnite, players must go to the account and privacy tab in the settings menu within the game, and then select their preference in the voice reporting option under the voice chat section. Voice Reporting can be turned on or off as needed. Voice reporting cannot be completely turned off; if another member in the group has voice reporting on, the game will record the voice conversation between group members.
For security and protection reasons, the voice reporting feature cannot be turned off for underage players.
How to Prevent Voice Chat Recording:
The only way players can prevent their voice conversations from being recorded in Fortnite is by:
- Turning off the microphone.
- Turning off voice chat completely.
- Playing solo or with friends who do not have voice reporting turned on.
How to Submit a Voice Report
When voice reporting is enabled, Fortnite will record and save the last five minutes of audio. Players who wish to submit a voice report must ensure that what they want to report has been said in the past five minutes. Otherwise, the game will continue recording and delete the previous recordings.
To submit a voice report in Fortnite:
- Open the sidebar while in a group or game channel.
- Open the voice chat tab.
- Choose the chat report button and submit the report.
With these steps, you can control the voice reporting settings in Fortnite and submit reports when necessary.
