How to Reset a Forgotten Windows Login Password Using a USB Flash Drive
Securing operating systems is very important for any user, whether it’s Windows or Linux, etc. There are various ways to secure and protect systems, such as creating a password, encryption, and other security measures. For Windows operating system, the easiest way to secure and protect it is by creating a password using Windows itself without any additional software. This is done to protect privacy, important files, and documents. Sometimes, users may forget their login password for Windows, which can be a big problem and difficult to solve. In such cases, users may need to resort to formatting the Windows system and reinstalling it to solve the problem.
We have previously discussed various solutions and methods to retrieve forgotten Windows login passwords in several articles on our website, including an article by Professor Abdulrahman Mohamed on how to break Windows 10 password and login to Windows (without software), as well as another article on 4 ways to access files when forgetting the Windows password, and an article by Professor Ahmed Hussein on how to bypass Windows 10 password if forgotten. Today, we will talk about a new and easy way to solve the problem of forgotten Windows login password without any software by relying on using a USB flash drive. This method is suitable for all different versions of Windows, whether Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10.
Important Note: This method is specific to each device, meaning the file created on the flash drive is only suitable for the device on which the file was created because it is linked to the username and password. Therefore, it is not suitable for another device.
This method for Windows 7 used in several steps, first creating a password for your computer: by going to Control Panel, then selecting User Accounts and Family Safety, then User Accounts, and then setting a login password for Windows and clicking on Create a password for your account. A window will open where you can create the password.
Following that, we start explaining the steps to crack the Windows password by creating a file or backup for the Windows password using a USB flash drive. We then press the option to create a password reset disk for the scenario of forgetting it, creating a password reset disk. This will open a window specifically for password recovery, where we click Next.
The USB flash drive connected to our device will automatically appear, where we can put the Windows recovery file on it and save it. It does not need to be empty, as the recovery file is kilobytes in size. We then click Next.
Next, we are required to enter the same Windows password here (e.g. 12345) that we previously created, then press Next until the file is successfully created, and we are asked to close the window and press Finish.
To ensure that this process is successful and the file is created, we go to the flash drive and open it, finding the file named userkey.psw.
If we connect the flash drive with the recovery file to the computer, then press Reset Password, making sure the USB flash drive is connected to the computer at the same time to execute the password reset steps and change it using the file on the flash drive.
At this point, we restart the computer and a screen will prompt us to enter the password to login to Windows. If you do not remember the password or enter the wrong password and click the arrow, the device will not unlock, which is the problem.
We now connect the flash drive with the recovery file to the computer, then press Reset Password, making sure that the USB flash drive is connected to the computer at the same time so that the password reset steps can be carried out and changed using the file on it.
We proceed to reset and create a new password to login to Windows by writing the new password, repeating it, entering a new name, and subsequently clicking Next until a window appears indicating the completion of this process and the login page appears again.
After entering the new password, we press Enter, and we see that successfully logged back into Windows with a welcoming message. We have successfully managed to crack the Windows login password without needing to know it, using a new password. It is important to follow the steps carefully in order to accomplish this.
I apologize for the low quality of some images here. In summary, with this method, you can crack your Windows password if you have created a recovery file specific to your device and placed it on a USB flash drive as a guide or backup file that allows you to log into your device using a new password.
In conclusion, we have learned how to crack a Windows login password using a flash drive without any additional software through this method. Once again, I emphasize that the file created on the flash drive is specific to my device and cannot be used on any other device due to the reasons mentioned. Until next time in future lessons. Thank you.
