How to remotely control your computer using your Android phone

Smartphones are truly smart! They can be used as one of the computer peripherals. You can even install a new Windows version on your device using your Android phone. The point here is that Android phones have many useful uses for computer users, and today in this article, I will discuss another use, which is waking up a Windows system if it is in sleep or hibernation mode remotely using your Android phone.

Let me explain the function of the technology briefly. As we know, we can wake up or turn on the computer if it is in sleep mode by pressing a key on the keyboard or moving the mouse. The Wake On LAN technology does the same thing but by sending a signal to the network card, meaning that the computer is required to operate immediately, so the computer is awakened. We can connect this signal using an application for Android phones, so you can remotely connect the signal and easily turn on the computer.

First, we need to activate the Wake On LAN technology in the computer to make the network card one of the means to wake up the computer remotely. To activate the technology, you will enter the BIOS screen on your device and then go to the power settings section, usually found as Power Management, where this section includes the Remote Wake Up option. After finding this option, you will switch it from Off to On to activate the Wake On LAN technology on your device. You can then save the BIOS settings. However, we still need to take some steps through the Windows system.
