How to prevent apps from accessing location on your Android device?
During your journey on your Android device, you come across discussions about the key features offered by the system, as well as detailed explanations and reviews about the ideas taken by the mentioned system, away from applications and problem-solving solutions and other posts related to the Android system. Fortunately, in recent years, users’ awareness has increased when it comes to security and privacy. For example, users now look closely at the permissions carried by applications.
In another topic a few days ago, I was in a long discussion about how Android tracks and always keeps the user’s location, even if location history is disabled. Therefore, the topic of our article today is how to prevent apps from accessing your location on your Android device?
Initially, this was a significant issue in some older versions of Android, but starting from Android 6.0 known as “Android Marshmallow,” you can control access permissions to the location from individual applications. In fact, when installing a new application, Android displays all the information related to permissions and access to the application.
If you want to block access to the location for any application, simply follow these simple steps:
- First, open the settings on your Android smartphone.
- Click on the Apps tab after finding it in the settings screen.
- Select an app you want to disable access to, for example, the Chrome browser.
- At this step, a screen will appear with information about the app, you then click on the permissions option.
- Click on the location to disable this setting.
- Repeat the process for all apps you don’t want to access your location.
