How to Make the Booting Process Faster on Android Phones
The Android operating system for smartphones operates similarly to computer operating systems like Windows and macOS, as it starts up while rebooting your phone. The apps installed and starting at the beginning of this process affect the boot-up process. As we have previously discussed steps to increase the speed of computer boot-up, in this article, we will also show you how to speed up the boot-up process on Android phones. Sometimes, you may notice that the process takes a long time, and you are still waiting for the manufacturer’s logo to disappear before you can use the phone. This can be annoying for many users. To make the process faster, we will follow the same principle of disabling apps that automatically run at the phone’s startup.
If you go to the Settings on your phone and then navigate to the App Management section and enter any app, among the allowed permissions for it to run, there is “Run at startup.” This means the system allows the app to automatically start once the phone boot-up process is completed, resulting in slow boot-up and impacting the phone’s performance as the app continues to run in the background since the startup. Fortunately, there is a way to stop and disable apps from running automatically to make the boot-up process quicker using the Startup Manager app, which does not require rooting to complete this process.
The free app Startup Manager is designed to manage the apps installed on your Android phone and control them in terms of running at the Android system startup. It allows you to disable or enable any app, whether from your installed apps or pre-installed system apps. The great thing is that it also lets you add apps of your choice to run at startup. The app is easy to use and highly effective; by disabling a large set of apps from running at startup, you will notice a significant improvement in the boot-up speed.
After installing and running the app on your phone, you will see three main sections: User, which lists user-installed apps, System, which contains system apps pre-installed, and Customize, where you can add specific apps of your choice from either user or system apps.
To disable any app from running automatically at system startup, simply long-press on the app and choose “Disable” from the dropdown menu, and it will be disabled immediately. If you have a large number of apps and want to disable them all, simply press “Disable All.” However, be careful, as some essential services like Google Play Services and most system apps should not be disabled and should start with the boot-up process. After disabling non-essential apps, try restarting your phone, and you will certainly notice a difference in the boot-up time.
