In this article, we will focus on a very important aspect in all image editing and design programs in general, which is fonts. Fonts are important in design, and using suitable fonts will make your design stand out. So, we will learn how to add fonts and install them on GIMP program.
1. Downloading Suitable Fonts
First and foremost, you will need to choose and download beautiful and suitable fonts for your designs. There are many websites where you can download fonts from, including Arabic fonts websites such as:

Simply, to download a specific font, click on it and a page will appear with a preview of the font. Then you will find the download link, click on Download. The font will start downloading as a compressed Zip file.
2. Installing Fonts on GIMP Program
After downloading the file, open it and extract the files to a new folder. Now you will find files in OTF or TTF format. Right-click on them, then choose Open With, and select Windows Font Viewer from the menu.
A new window will appear displaying the font in different sizes. Click on the Install button to install the font. The font will be installed on the Windows system, and any program that supports fonts including Photoshop and GIMP will be able to use this font.
Now open the GIMP program and go to the toolbar on the right side, then click on the Fonts tab. Search for the font you added and use it normally.
If you cannot find the fonts you added, click on the configuration button at the top right corner, then choose Rescan Font List from the Fonts Menu. The fonts you recently added will appear.
