How to Enable or Disable Google Chrome Notifications in Windows 10
Applications on Windows 10 can display notifications directly on the desktop, and notifications are a great visual feature that can alert you to many things. If you miss any notifications, you can review them again from the Action Center. If you enable the Focus Assist feature, notifications will not interrupt you. Chrome has added support for Windows 10 notifications. For some users, it is enabled by default, but for others, you need to manually enable notifications for Chrome. This is what we will clarify in this article.
Activate Google Chrome Notifications in Windows 10
Open Chrome and copy and paste the following in your address bar: “chrome://flags/#enable-native-notifications”. This will open the Chrome flags page and display the “Enable native notifications” tag in yellow. Open the dropdown menu next to it and select the “Enable” option. Restart Chrome from the button at the bottom to activate the feature directly.

This will allow websites and web applications to send notifications to you, and all these notifications will appear as native signals, similar to Windows 10 applications like Skype. Chrome can display notifications, but you need to allow different websites and web applications to send them to you. To do this, you must allow notifications for each site you visit individually.
To enable notifications for a website or web application, visit it and click on the small lock icon next to the address bar, then a small menu will open. If you see the Notifications entry, open the dropdown menu next to it and set it to “Allow.” If you do not see the Notifications option, click on the Manage Site Settings button. This will open a Chrome page specific to the website where you can enable notifications for it.

This is useful for web applications like the web version of Telegram. However, you cannot use it to force websites to display desktop notifications if the application or website does not support it. Websites can display notifications, but not all can show desktop notifications. Some websites will only display a pop-up window on their page and may not be able to send the notification to Chrome, which in turn cannot push it to the desktop.
If you do not want to use native notifications, you can disable them by changing the tag value to disabled. If you use many websites and applications that send notifications, you can use the Focus Assist feature or Quiet Hours in Windows 10, which can stop notifications for a specific period. Simply go to Settings, then System, then Focus Assist, and customize your list according to your priorities.
You can quickly enable and disable Focus Assist from the Action Center in the corner of the taskbar by pressing the Quiet Hours button to mute the alerts and sounds. This feature serves as the “Do Not Disturb” mode that Windows 10 users may need.
