Horizon series sales reach 35 million copies sold worldwide
After the success of the first part of the Horizon title, which was released in 2017, Sony decided to turn it into a series and released a second part titled Forbidden West. Now, they are preparing to launch Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. Recently, it was announced that the development of the LEGO Horizon Adventures game is complete.
Today, journalist Colin Moriarty revealed that the Horizon series has sold 35 million copies, making it one of Sony’s best-selling series with just two parts. Despite its huge success, Moriarty believes it is one of the most disliked series.
There is also an enhanced version of the first part of Horizon Zero Dawn set to release later this year. The development team at Nixxes Software has revealed new technical details about some of the ways they have tried to improve and update the game that was released in 2017.
The studio says players can expect more dense vegetation and tree leaves throughout the game world. This was, of course, a key feature of the original Horizon Zero Dawn map, but it seems that Nixxes Software has tried to bring the game to the same level of quality we saw in the game sequel for 2022, Horizon Forbidden West.
Other areas that Nixxes Software studio has improved include non-playable characters and their behavior. In short, players can expect towns, cities, and settlements to look more dense while non-playable characters will now behave in more natural and diverse ways, making the world appear more vibrant.
Furthermore, the enhanced version will also feature over 10 hours of new motion-capture animation for its conversations, along with improved lighting. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be released on PS5 and PC on October 31st.
