However, in a short time, it has gained a respectable name in the world of encrypted email services, as it uses 2048-bit RSA keys for end-to-end encryption and AES-128 protocol for transmission, ensuring the security of all your email messages. Tutanota also offers a mobile app for both Android and iOS, where you can choose to use the free service alongside the paid services that come with more features. However, Tutanota offers up to 1 gigabyte in its free service, which is definitely welcoming for a free service. If 1 gigabyte is not sufficient for you, you can always upgrade to the paid tier, which will cost you only 12 euros annually.
This service features an elegant and simple interface design. However, what may be lacking in this service is that it does not allow users to set timers for their messages for self-destruct, so you will have to manually delete them, and if not done manually, the messages remain on the company’s servers, even if encrypted. Personally, I do not see this as a complex or negative thing. On the positive side, Tutanota uses an open-source encryption algorithm licensed under GPL v3, independently verified by cybersecurity experts. Additionally, Tutanota has servers in Switzerland, protected by strict privacy laws, and far from the reach of NSA and FBI.
