Google warns it will start deleting Gmail accounts due to inactivity. Here’s what you need to do.

Google has once again warned about its new policy that will be implemented in a few months. The company informed that it will start removing inactive accounts and all associated services. As a user, you just need to understand one thing: you should log into your inactive account when this process begins. Otherwise, you may end up without Gmail, without Google Photos, and with all services associated with that account deleted. We tell you everything you need to know!
Google has already confirmed that it will begin deleting inactive Gmail accounts starting from December 2023. This will be done gradually and users will be notified of the possible closure of their account. There will be no mass deletions in a single day, but it will be done gradually.
Google will start with accounts that were created at some point and have not been used again. And so, gradually, until they reach accounts that have been inactive for a period of time.
– What is an inactive Gmail account?
Google’s terms clarify that: an account is considered inactive after more than two years without usage or login. In other words, deleting accounts will affect all those accounts that have not been logged into on mobile or computer for more than 24 months. If you have an account of this type in your possession, you should know that you will not be able to keep it for life, you must log in or use it to avoid losing it.
Simply logging into your account from a browser will make the account active again and not put it on Google’s blacklist. However, Google has already warned that it will send continuous notifications to the owners of these accounts before deleting them. If you only have one Gmail account and it is the one you created on your smartphone, there is no need to worry about anything.
