Google Pixel sales record highest growth in company history during the third quarter of 2024

Google Pixel phones achieved exceptional growth in sales during the third quarter of 2024, recording the highest quarterly sales ever in the company’s history. This remarkable achievement comes after the launch of the Pixel 9 series, according to a report by the market research company Counterpoint Research.

This success is attributed to Google’s outstanding strategy in launching its phones. Last May, the company introduced the Pixel 8a phone, which received a great response during the summer season, paving the way for the launch of the Pixel 9 series in August, which was a notable success and significantly impacted the smartphone market.

Despite these successes, Google generally does not provide official numbers regarding its smartphone sales. However, the company achieved a significant milestone in 2023 when it sold around 10 million phones from the Pixel series in one year, and also won the “Best Smartphone” award at the MWC conference at the beginning of 2024.

Google is currently experiencing strong growth in the Japanese markets, in addition to increasing sales in North America. This comes amidst a global resurgence in the smartphone market, which saw a 2% increase in the third quarter of 2024, indicating an improvement in demand after a period of decline.

Among the major companies, Samsung still leads the market with a share of 19%, despite a slight decline compared to the previous year. Apple’s share remained at 16%, while Xiaomi saw growth with an increased share of 14%. Oppo and Vivo maintained their fourth and fifth positions with a share of 9% each.

Among other companies, Motorola and Huawei saw annual growth of 30%, with Motorola achieving its highest sales ever in a single quarter.
