Google is testing a feature to display recipes directly within search results.

Google aims to simplify the experience of searching for recipes online, as it has begun testing a new feature that may save users from directly visiting recipe websites. This feature allows displaying complete recipes within search results, saving users time and effort in accessing the desired content.

This feature was first spotted by “The Verge” website, where a new button called “Quick View” appears on the thumbnail images of some recipes. This button allows users to access the full recipe details without the need to leave the search results page, a step that is part of Google’s efforts to enhance user experience and connect them to high-quality content faster.

In a comment from Brianna Duff, the official spokesperson for Google, she confirmed that the company is always testing new ways to deliver information better, adding that Google is collaborating with a limited number of creators to test this feature and present recipes directly through the search engine, enhancing the value of the content and making it easier to access.

Although Google has not disclosed full details about the scope of this test or the partners involved, this feature is an extension of Google’s direction to keep users within the search platform. It is worth mentioning that Google previously encouraged bloggers to adopt a longer format for recipes in response to search engine algorithms favoring longer content, leading to increased visibility of those articles in search results.

The new feature is part of a series of tools being developed by Google, such as the “AI Overviews” feature that offers summaries of answers and queries directly in search results. With these changes, some are concerned about their impact on visitor traffic to websites and blogs that heavily rely on visits and advertisements.
