Google Calendar on the web gets a new interface and dark mode
Google has released a comprehensive update for the web version of the “Google Calendar” app, including the long-awaited dark mode, a modern user interface with design and font improvements.
The update is gradually available to all users, whether personal Gmail account holders or paid Google Workspace subscribers.
Activating dark mode is now directly available from the settings icon in the top right corner of the screen, by selecting “Appearance” from the drop-down menu, with options for light mode or matching the device’s mode. This update eliminates the need for external browser extensions to activate dark mode.
The update also brings a design that complies with “Material Design 3” standards, with clearer custom icons and fonts, enhanced buttons, dialog boxes, and sidebars. The update alerts users to the possible incompatibility of old add-ons with the new interface.
The update includes all parts of the calendar on the web, including task lists, to provide a unified and consistent user experience.
