Key Features of the New Storage Manager in WhatsApp
Initially, to clarify, WhatsApp has had a storage manager in its application for years. However, the new aspect is that WhatsApp has completely redesigned it, adding several new tools. It is worth noting that this update to the storage interface is the first in three years, making it a highly anticipated and welcomed step.
As mentioned earlier, these new additions will allow users to quickly and easily delete media files like never before. It will analyze your storage space in detail, sort all conversations by space, list items such as messages, videos, photos, GIFs, documents, etc., allowing you to delete each category individually or in bulk.
Most importantly, there previously wasn’t an option to preview files before deletion, but now this support has been added. The new storage manager will display thumbnails of the content you intend to delete, as well as add two new categories: “Forwarded several times” and “Larger than 5 megabytes.” Now let’s discuss how to access these tools, just follow the steps below.

How to Access the New Storage Manager and Its Tools in WhatsApp?
Before delving into the review of the new WhatsApp addition, it should be noted that this update is gradually rolling out to all users worldwide. If you haven’t received it yet, wait a few more days. The images below show screenshots of the old storage manager and the new one. Directly, here are the steps to access it.
First, go to the WhatsApp application and click on the menu button (three dots stacked on top of each other), then press “Settings.” From there, go to the “Storage and Data” tab, previously named “Data and Storage Usage.”
Now, through the new interface, go to the first option “Storage Management.” You will notice the new storage manager interface, showing you WhatsApp conversations and the amount of space they consume, along with the two new options “Forwarded several times” and “Larger than 5 megabytes.”
I don’t have any messages that have been forwarded multiple times, so our focus will be on the “Larger than 5 megabytes” feature. Click on it, and you will see all WhatsApp media files. You can then select the files you want to delete in bulk. At the top left of the screen, you can see the sorting icon, which will sort files by newest, oldest, or largest size.
