Gemini has now been updated with one of Google Assistant’s most popular features.

After changing its name from Bard to Gemini and launching its own app for Android, Google’s new generative AI continues to evolve with the aim of replacing the classic Google Assistant. The old personal assistant has become outdated after recent developments in AI, gradually making way for Gemini.

Therefore, if we told you a few days ago that Gemini is starting to become the default virtual assistant for Android, a new leak confirms that it has been updated with one of the most popular Google Assistant features used by users.

As reported on Android Police, a Reddit user recently shared a post confirming that Gemini now allows you to create reminders, a feature of Google Assistant that was not available in the new AI-powered Google Assistant until now.

As seen in the screenshots below, when we create a voice reminder with Gemini, it calls upon the Google Assistant extension and adds it to your Google tasks.

Similarly, after setting a reminder, a button titled “Open Tasks” will appear in the Gemini popup window, which will open the Google Tasks app with all your pending tasks. If you have Google Tasks app installed on your Android smartphone, you will receive the reminder notification through that app; otherwise, you will be notified through Google Calendar.

This reminders feature is being gradually rolled out in the Gemini app and is now available to some users. I tried testing it on my Android terminal, and currently, Gemini has not been updated with this feature, but we are confident that we will get it sooner rather than later.
