Le studio Bloober Team reconnaît avoir sorti des jeux médiocres avant le remake de Silent Hill 2.

The Bloober Team company stated that they are aware of the mixed reputation of some of their previous games and that the company is no longer satisfied with creating « bad » games. In an interview with GameSpot following the announcement of the horror game Cronos: The New Dawn, the team behind the Silent Hill 2 remake said they are looking to overcome their previous reputation by delivering successful games akin to the critical and commercial success of Silent Hill 2, and that the team will prove that the Silent Hill 2 remake will not be a stroke of luck.

Said co-director Jacek Zieba.

« We want to find our place, and we believe we have found it, so we are now – let’s evolve with it. » « And how that happens is more complicated, but it also happens in some way, as it happened with the game Layers of Fear [in 2016], people in the studio were saying: « Well, we made some bad games before, but we [can] evolve. »

Added co-director Wojciech Piejko:

« We have assembled a team that loves horror. » « So I think for us, it will not be easy to transition [to other genres], and we do not want that. »

The latest game from Bloober Team, the Silent Hill 2 remake, was released earlier this month to widespread critical acclaim and currently holds an 87 score on Metacritic. You can read our review of the game here, and here is the gist:

Tension, horror, and excitement, Silent Hill 2 has returned as if it never left, with a story that still retains its charm, enjoyable puzzles, improved gameplay mechanics, and a more vibrant and terrifying world, lacking only more variety in enemies and boss battles.
