Le développeur de Dragon Age: The Veilguard se moque des joueurs critiquant les designs des personnages féminins

Dragon Age The Veilguard is clearly suffering from poor pre-sales either in retail stores or digital sales, with the game and its developer BioWare being accused of focusing on specific agendas, as well as overemphasizing inclusivity and diversity to the point that one of the developers mocked the players who criticized certain aspects like the designs of female characters, for example.

David Gaider, a writer at BioWare, recently spoke on social media about the negative reactions towards the design of female characters in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. He mocked the players who say that the women in the game are « not attractive enough » and talked about their preferences, suggesting that they are influenced by adult animations or content, describing these complaints as old-fashioned and annoying.

One of the main points Gaider referred to was how beauty standards in games have changed, claiming that players who criticize the designs of female characters today are stuck in old-fashioned ideas influenced by adult media and 18+ anime. He pointed out that the world has changed and character designs no longer fit these « old preferences. »

This anger comes in the wake of growing frustration among BioWare fans who feel that the developer is not listening to their feedback and is pushing them away. Many players believe that the new character designs do not align with their expectations for the Dragon Age game, with some saying the characters look « masculine » or « very unattractive. »

Many members of the gaming community did not take David Gaider’s tweets well, with some accusing him and BioWare of being hostile to players, bringing back memories of what happened at the launch of Mass Effect: Andromeda. And the result? A critical and commercial failure.
