Lancer STALKER 2 sur Xbox Series S était difficile au début

Originally, GSC Game World, the developer of STALKER 2, thought that releasing the game on Xbox Series S would be impossible, but now they believe that any modern game can be run on the device with the appropriate optimization.

In a recent interview with Windows Central, GSC Game World discussed the less powerful current-generation system, stating that they initially thought releasing the Xbox Series S version of the game would be impossible due to the game’s mechanics and the lower system specifications compared to other current-generation systems. However, as the studio began optimizing and adding new features to streamlining information flow, they squeezed every megabyte out of each part of the system content as much as possible, making this version of the game ultimately feasible.

Following this experience, the developer of STALKER 2 believes that every modern game can be run on Xbox Series S with appropriate optimization. This experience also enhanced the studio’s expertise in optimization, benefiting the PC version of the game as well, making it more efficient and lowering the minimum system requirements, which are somewhat low for a modern game.

Speaking more about the release of STALKER 2 on Xbox Series S, the studio confirmed that the game runs at 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X, with some minor drops to around 50 frames per second during gameplay and larger drops during narrative scenarios that do not affect the experience. However, they also hope to further improve the game either before or after the launch. On Xbox Series S, the team decided to target a play speed of 30 frames per second despite being capable of reaching 60 frames per second, albeit inconsistently. Nevertheless, the studio considers achieving a 60 frames per second performance possible, although it is not yet determined whether it will be available at launch or after the game’s launch next month.

STALKER 2 will be released on November 20 on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
