Désactiver la fonction de lecture en accéléré sur YouTube pour une visualisation plus rapide

The Dash Playback feature is a way to store videos while watching them. You play the video, pause it, wait for it to load and store, then start watching. However, with this feature, if you fast forward the video, it starts storing and loading again. Let me explain even though I know everyone has been facing this issue lately. You play a video on YouTube, pause it, wait for it to load, then start watching without interruptions. But there’s a boring part in the video that you want to skip, so you fast forward, and you’ll notice that everything that was loaded and stored starts loading again. This may be normal for users with fast internet speeds, but for slow speeds, it’s tedious and a real problem! So, in this article, we will review a solution to this problem and how to enable/disable the Dash Playback feature as you wish.

When the Dash Playback feature is enabled, which it currently is by default on YouTube, you will notice that the video storage or what has been loaded for viewing does not progress at the desired speed. Also, when the storage marker moves forward, if you skip a part of the video, it starts storing again from the beginning! If you disable this feature, YouTube and the viewing, loading, and storage system will return to what it was before, allowing you to wait for the video to load and navigate through parts of the video without re-storing. But that doesn’t mean that the Dash Playback feature doesn’t have advantages; it is indeed faster in playback but as mentioned, it is only suitable for good internet speeds.

Unfortunately, there is no option on YouTube to disable this feature, but fortunately, it can be disabled through browser extensions and scripts. Some browser extensions that offer the option to enable/disable Dash Playback feature include the YouTube Center extension, which you can install for your browser through the links below.

As for Google Chrome browser, the extension is not available yet, but you can easily download the script through this link , then download the script by clicking on the green Install icon and after downloading the file, open your Google Chrome browser, go to Tools, then Extensions, and drag the script file into this extensions page, then press OK, and you will notice that the extension has been installed and appeared on the page. Another way is to install the Tampermonkey extension for Google Chrome browser, then access the script and click on Install, but this time the script will not be downloaded, you will notice that it has been installed directly into the browser through this extension. The Tampermonkey extension acts as a script reader, and therefore, it installs the YouTube Center extension for you.

Now, after installing the extension on your browser, whether Firefox, Google Chrome, or Opera, you will notice a new icon at the top next to the username, so click on it. Then go to the Player window, and remove the checkmark next to Dash Playback. This will revert the storage system to its previous state, and the viewing experience will improve.

And of course, this extension has many features and options that you can control easily. But the most important thing now is that after disabling Dash Playback at the top, you can wait for the video to be stored and loaded, start watching without interruptions, and navigate through parts of the video without re-storing. This will enhance the viewing experience. I hope the article and the extension are helpful. Thank you.
