How to Enable or Disable Voice Reporting
Epic Games does not automatically record players’ voice chats; they can only access the recording if players send a voice report. However, players who are not comfortable with this can adjust their preferences in the settings.
To change the voice reporting settings in Fortnite, players need to go to the Account and Privacy tab in the settings menu within the game and select their preference in the Voice Chat section. Voice reporting can be turned on or off whenever possible. Voice reporting cannot be completely turned off; if another member in the group has voice reporting enabled, the game will record the voice conversation between group members.
For security and protection reasons, the voice reporting feature cannot be disabled for minor players.
How to Prevent Voice Chat Recording:
The only way players can prevent their voice chats from being recorded in Fortnite is by:
- Turning off the microphone.
- Turning off voice chat entirely.
- Playing solo or with friends who do not have voice reporting enabled.
How to Submit a Voice Report
When voice reporting is enabled, Fortnite will record and save the last five minutes of audio. Players who wish to submit a voice report must ensure that what they want to report has been said within the last five minutes. Otherwise, the game will continue recording and delete previous recordings.
To submit a voice report in Fortnite:
- Open the sidebar while in a group or game channel.
- Open the Voice Chat tab.
- Select the Report Conversation button and submit the report.
With these steps, you can control the voice reporting settings in Fortnite and submit reports when necessary.
