Rapport : Ubisoft a licencié entièrement l’équipe du Prince of Persia The Lost Crown.

Not all of Ubisoft’s recent games have received a good reception from players, however, one title stood out, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, as the game received a great rating on Metacritic, and fans praised it a lot.

Despite the good critical performance, the game’s sales were really weak, as it was previously revealed that it attracted only 300,000 players, and perhaps more players have played it by now, but sales have not improved significantly. For these reasons, it appears that Ubisoft has decided to let go of the entire team that worked on this game.

Trusted French journalist Gautoz revealed that the entire team behind the game has been disbanded, and it seems the journalist heard this information from many developers at Ubisoft Montpellier, and continued:

This was the best production of a game in my entire life. I was told over and over again that it was a beacon of hope for creativity and a safe space for people who were tired of playing BG&E 2, and the team was disbanded by Ubisoft.

If this is true, it is truly unfortunate that the team was disbanded in this way. Weak sales may have been an indicator, but not many expected the complete breakup of the team, and it seems that the developers also struggled to produce a sequel, but it was rejected.
