Solution to the Coin Puzzle in Silent Hill 2
Once you have the coins of the man, woman, and snake, return to the coin cabinet in the small room behind the save point on the first floor of Wood Side apartments to start the puzzle. You will be given a series of clues indicating where to place each coin. Remember you can flip the coins to reveal a different image.

1. Place the woman’s coin in the third slot.
2. Place the man’s coin in the first slot.
3. Flip the snake coin and place the flower in the fifth slot.
Solution to the first puzzle on « Standard » difficulty level
When the puzzle changes to « The man doth approach, » here’s how to solve the second coin puzzle:
1. Move the man’s coin to the second slot and flip it to reveal the sword.
2. Move the woman’s coin to the fourth slot.
Solution to the second puzzle on « Standard » difficulty level
When the puzzle changes to « Where the flowers once bloomed, » here’s how to solve the third coin puzzle:
1. Flip the flower coin to reveal the snake and keep it in the fifth slot.
2. Flip the woman’s coin to reveal the witness statue and keep it in the fourth slot.
3. Flip the sword coin to reveal the man and move it to the third slot.
Solution to the third puzzle on « Standard » difficulty level
Finally, when the puzzle changes to « The Beast who its teeth, » place either the man’s, snake’s, or woman’s coin in the slot below the puzzle text on top of the coin cabinet. While any choice will complete the puzzle and reward you with the Apartment 201 key, your choice may affect the ending you receive.
There are likely many other factors at play, but as a reference, we chose the snake coin and received the ‘Leave’ ending.
