Fortnite Could Also Face a Ban in the United States Like TikTok

Following the announcement that TikTok and WeChat cannot be installed on mobile devices in the United States, and TikTok will be completely banned if it does not sell to a North American company or address national security concerns before November 12, the Trump administration is also investigating Epic Games and Riot, both companies linked to Tencent, a very powerful Chinese company accused of sharing foreign user data with the Chinese government.

Both Epic Games and Riot are companies that own the most popular games currently such as Fortnite and League of Legends, respectively. Therefore, if the government sees that these games or other services from these companies compromise data, they could be affected.
In response to this situation, Bloomberg reported that the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) has contacted Riot and Epic Games in the United States to learn about their security protocols in handling personal data of Americans.
As of writing these lines, neither company has issued a statement on this matter.
Tencent has also faced the same issue in India, where this country banned downloads and use of PUBG Mobile, a game developed by Tencent.
Currently, India and the United States are the only two countries that have taken action against Chinese apps and services, accusing them of spying on users and sharing their personal data with the Chinese government.
