Fixing the Server Execution Failed issue in Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player is the basic media player in the Windows operating system and one of the most successful programs launched by Microsoft for its operating system. It is usually error-free, meaning you won’t encounter many problems and errors when using it. However, many users have reported the following error when trying to play media files.
When playing audio files with this player, you may occasionally encounter an error message “Server Execution Failed.” There could be various reasons behind this strange issue that cannot be pinpointed. The problem could be with the file itself or the system. It could also be due to an update that prevents WMP from recognizing the file type and other such issues.
I often use this program to play audio files as it is integrated into the operating system, avoiding the need to download external software that may burden my modest device. However, this problem reappeared before me the other day, prompting me to search for all the root solutions to get rid of it. Fortunately, I found good solutions and I am sharing them with you today.
1. End Windows Media Player Task:
Starting from simple solutions to more complex ones, it is common to try this intuitive solution – close the program and end its process through Task Manager. Restarting often provides temporary solutions for some issues in many programs and systems.
To do this, simply press Ctrl + Shift + Esc together to open Task Manager or right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager. Look for Windows Media Player, right-click on it, and choose End Task.
