Firefox 130 now available for download: Here are all the new features brought by the update
Google Chrome and Edge have gradually taken over Firefox and it is no longer the most popular browser. Firefox ranks third in the most used web browsers market share, but Mozilla does not give up and continues to add new features that can help regain users.
Mozilla releases a new version of its browser approximately every 4 weeks with various changes, improvements, and fixes of all kinds, and now it’s time for Firefox 130.
The next update will allow you to stay independent and have full control over your browser in terms of privacy and performance. Although this does not mean that Firefox 130 does not share some new functions with Chrome or Edge like content translation or multimedia playback.
– All the new features brought by Firefox 130
Firefox 130 is committed to the user experience and will bring a new translation function to the browser that allows you to select a portion of the text on the page or the entire page in Chrome-style. Users can translate it to the language they want without the need for extensions, which has been one of the most requested features in recent months.
Mozilla has also introduced the Firefox Labs section now available to users of the Nightly versions of the browser. This new configuration allows you to enable or disable experimental browser features faster without the need to change “flags” in the configuration.
The latest features introduced by Mozilla will be showcased in the Firefox Labs section and users will be able to try them out or enable/disable them with a single click if they are not interested.
The browser also offers new features for Linux devices. Mozilla has solved one of the most annoying issues for its browser users concerning animated graphics in the search engine. Firefox developers turned to Google Chrome and Safari for scrollable animated graphics. When you reach the end of the page, there is a slight bounce effect as in other operating systems.
Mozilla has improved the general performance of the browser compared to the previous version, but has also added exclusive features for developers. Firefox has released support for the Web Codecs API, which allows experts to access audio and video encoding software and decryption devices to facilitate the insertion of multimedia content.
– When will Firefox 130 be available on all devices?
Firefox 130 is now available to some users and it is expected that the company will provide it to all supported devices later today. Users can install the update from the browser itself or download Mozilla from its official website if not already in use.
If the update does not appear yet and you want to try it out as soon as possible, you can download version 130 directly from Mozilla Firefox File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
