Finally, the opening date for the Epic New Entertainment Park owned by Universal Studios has been announced.
After years of excitement and anticipation, we finally know when Universal Studios will open its fourth theme park in Orlando, Epic Universe. The company just announced that the park will open on May 22, 2025, featuring distinctive lands titled How to Train Your Dragon, Harry Potter, Nintendo, Universal Monsters, and more.
While this may seem far off, it’s not if you’re a theme park enthusiast. The opening date means it’s time to start making travel plans, as Universal also announced that park tickets and rooms at the new Universal Helios Grand Hotel are all available for purchase/reservation on October 22. As previously rumored, most entries into Epic Universe will initially be available as part of a larger ticket bundle that includes entry to other theme parks: Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay.
So what does that mean? Well, you can click here for all the details, but essentially, if you want to visit Epic Universe starting May 22, 2025, you’ll need to purchase a multi-day ticket that will grant you only one day in the park. Single day tickets will be available separately, but only for Annual Passholders initially with those sales starting on October 24. For those who may only want to visit Epic Universe on its own, “Additional Ticket Options for Universal Epic Universe – including single day tickets for the general public and more, will be available for sale in the coming months. Again, visit the official Epic Universe site for specific details on all that, as well as the new hotel.
Karen Irwin, President and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, said in a press release: “This is a pivotal moment for our destination, and we are thrilled to welcome guests to Epic Universe next year.” “With the addition of this new, stunning theme park, our guests will begin an unforgettable vacation experience with a week of thrills that will be nothing short of epic! Our world will never be the same.”
The key is in that last sentence. Yes, it would be great to be among the first to visit Epic Universe and ride its rides and discover its secrets. But it’s not going anywhere. Starting in May 2025 and for the foreseeable future, so if you want to go but can’t wrap your head around paying entry fees for three parks to visit one, just wait. In the months and years to come, there will be plenty of time to visit Celestial Park, Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon Island, and the Dark Universe.
