Everyone knows that the Silent Hill series, specifically its second installment, is considered the godfather of modern horror games and one of the most successful titles critically. However, commercially it did not have the same strength and did not compete widely. But it seems that all of this has changed with the Silent Hill 2 remake, which has achieved unprecedented critical and commercial success despite the concerns surrounding it before launch.
The older generation enjoyed games from this series a lot, and now the new generation is joining in, as the Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team has become the fastest-selling game in the series. Konami recently announced that the game had sold a million copies in just three days, making it the fastest-selling game in the series by a wide margin compared to any other installment. Dusk Golem, an informed source, commented:
This makes it the fastest-selling Silent Hill game ever, and certainly not bad for a PS5/PC exclusive release for a long-dormant intellectual property.
It is worth mentioning that the PS5 version accounts for 78% of Silent Hill 2 sales in Europe.
Silent Hill 2 Remake has surpassed 1 million units sold in less than a week (via Konami’s press release, reached 1 million sales on October 11th).
Makes it the fastest selling Silent Hill game by far, & certainly not bad for a PS5/PC exclusive releasing for a long dormant IP.
