Extremely Positive Previews for Stalker 2 – A New Contender for “Game of the Year” Title

Stalker 2 has been delayed multiple times, but that hasn’t dampened the excitement surrounding it. In fact, it was voted the most anticipated game by players this year in a major poll, and previous previews have been extremely positive. However, the game has still been postponed.

Despite the frustration usually associated with delay decisions, it is better to delay the game as rushing the release benefits no one, as we learned with Cyberpunk 2077. However, the delay in the upcoming first-person horror and survival game was worth it, as recent hands-on previews have been extremely positive.

Several media outlets had the honor of trying out the game and had nothing but good things to say about it. Shinobi602 gathered their thoughts and shared them on Twitter, indicating that the Ukrainian developer has created something special. One attendee said:

When I left, I felt like I played a title that will clearly compete for Game of the Year.

One media outlet described it as one of the front-runners for Game of the Year, indicating that the game is truly good. It also ranks high on the most-wanted games list on Steam, so players are very excited for this experience.

Previews highlighted the refreshing challenge of managing resources like ammo and food to survive in this title, and the game’s design also seems highly flexible, meaning you can skip different objectives during missions. Another unique aspect is that non-playable characters can complete the mission without rewarding you if they decide to loot the body of their fallen comrade.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is set to be released on November 20 via Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam, GOG, Epic, and the GSC website), and Game Pass.
