Explanation of privacy in the new Facebook timeline
1 – Specify the Privacy of Your Status When Posting.
• When updating your status, you can specify who can see your status specifically. You can choose to show it only to yourself, or show it only to your friends, or show it to everyone, or show it to specific people.
2 – Specify the Privacy of Your Friends List.
• Click on “Friends” on your profile page as shown in the image.
3 – Specify the Privacy of Your Photo Albums.
• Click on Photos on your profile page, then choose the privacy of each album by clicking on the icon below each album as shown in the following image:-
4 – Specify the Privacy of Your Information.
• Click on “About”, then choose the section you want to edit the privacy settings for, then click on Edit, then click on the icon as shown in the following image, then choose the privacy setting.
• After editing, click on “Done Editing”
5 – To hide a specific activity and also to hide all similar activities from appearing on your page.
• Click on the X mark next to the activity, then choose
– Hide this recent event from your diary
– Hide similar activity from the timeline (to hide all similar activities from appearing)
6 – Specify the Privacy of Your Posts.
• Choose the post you want to specify the privacy of, then click on the icon as shown in the image, then choose the privacy setting.
