Explanation of Facebook Timeline for Pages

After the release of Facebook Timeline for pages, as mentioned in the previous post titled Facebook Releases Facebook Timeline for Pages, and with the knowledge that it will be applied to everyone on March 30th, we need to know what the new features of the pages look like! If you’re not familiar with its features, you should follow this post because it may change your opinion about Facebook Timeline for pages.

Images, likes, and applications are now at the top of the page.

Images, likes, and applications now appear at the top of the page. Images are displayed first, followed by likes. You can display up to 12 applications at most. The beauty here is that you can add an image for any application by going to edit page, then applications, then edit, then add an image (size: 111×74).

Highlighting featured posts on your page

One of the distinctive features, as it was for personal pages, is now even more distinctive for public pages. You can give any post on your page a featured badge, allowing you to showcase it on the page. This can be done by clicking “featured” as shown in the image below.

Welcome pages and other applications

You can create a welcome page, but it cannot be set as the default page for visitors. The default page is now the wall only and cannot be changed, but you can create a welcome page that will only appear if the visitor clicks on it.

New look for the page administration panel

The administration panel has a completely new look. Page notifications now appear at the top of the page, showing new likes, views, and post views. You can also use the activity log and edit the page as before but in a updated and better format.

Messaging feature

Fans can now message you directly, allowing them to send messages to your page and for you to respond to them.

Cover photo

The cover photo feature, as seen in personal pages, is also available for public pages. You can use the previous post about explaining the new Facebook Timeline, or you can use a post on how to design a cover for Facebook Timeline without using any programs.

Changing the page name after surpassing 100 likes

Previously, it was not possible to change the page name after surpassing 100 likes. Now, you can send a request to change the page name by clicking here, then writing the current page name, the new name, the page URL, and the reason for the name change, and then wait for the change to take effect.

Protection system against unwanted comments (spam)

With the new Timeline, you can now manage spam comments more efficiently. You can access the admin panel and choose Spam, then browse all comments categorized as spam and delete or approve them as needed.

You can access the activity log, click on “all,” then “random email.”

Most of the new features that distinguish the Timeline system for public pages have been explained, and the post is subject to updates. Therefore, please follow the blog’s Facebook page Computer Programs.
