Evolutionary Anthropology: AI Agents Capable of Completing Complex Tasks
Anthropik, backed by Amazon, has announced a new achievement in the field of artificial intelligence by developing AI Agents capable of using computers to perform complex tasks in a human-like manner, according to a report published by CNBC.
Anthropik is the developer of the smart chatbot “Claude,” which has gained widespread fame and competes with giants like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft in the industrial AI race.
The new technology, part of the recent models of artificial intelligence, allows Claude’s agents to interpret what appears on the screen, select buttons, input text, browse the internet, and execute tasks through any program.
Jared Kaplan, the company’s chief scientist, pointed out that this tool can perform tasks in a similar way to how humans use computers, even involving “tens or even hundreds of steps.”
Amazon has gained early access to this tool, and companies like Asana, Canva, and Notion have tested this feature. Anthropik is planning to release this feature for developers on a trial basis, with aspirations to open up usage to consumers and companies in the coming months.
Future consumer applications include booking trips, scheduling appointments, filling out forms, conducting online research, and submitting expense reports.
With this innovation, Anthropik enters into strong competition with other companies working on developing AI agents, as investors have shown increased interest in companies building these technologies.
Anthropik is also looking to strengthen its presence in the market, recently launching “Claude Enterprise,” a new service targeting companies looking to integrate artificial intelligence into their operations. This service provides new capabilities such as document uploading and expanding the understanding of wider data.
