The new Microsoft Edge browser surpasses Firefox to become the second most popular browser in the world

While Google Chrome remains the most successful and popular browser, with a usage share of 68.5%, for the first time, a version of Microsoft Edge has surpassed Firefox.
According to market analysis company NetMarketShare, Microsoft Edge managed to overtake Firefox last month in March, securing its historical second position.
Furthermore, the increase in the share of Microsoft Edge did not affect Google Chrome at all, which continues to grow moderately.
Therefore, the most affected browser is Firefox, which, despite all efforts in the Quantum project and even with a strong commitment to new services that aim to protect user privacy, Mozilla has not been able to stop Microsoft Edge’s progress.
Firefox has been declining for years, moving from a share of 10.23% a year ago (April 2019) to a current share of 7.19%, less than Microsoft Edge’s 7.59% share.
It is worth noting that in 2016, Firefox had a share of 14%, reflecting that user loss was imminent and none of the strategies implemented by the company were able to work.
