Motorola has announced the list of its phones that will receive the Android 15 update as part of its plan to provide the latest features to its users. The list includes a wide range of the company’s phones, including devices from the Edge and Razr series as well as multiple versions of the Moto G.
The list of Edge series phones that will receive the update includes: Edge Plus 2023, Edge 2024, Edge 40 Pro, Edge 50, Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Neo, Edge 50 Pro, and Edge 50 Ultra. As for the Moto G series, the update will be available for phones like Moto G Power 5G 2024, Moto G 5G 2024, Moto G Stylus 5G 2024, Moto G34 5G, Moto G35, Moto G45, Moto G55, Moto G75, and Moto G85.
In addition, Motorola will provide the Android 15 update for devices in the Razr series, including phones like Motorola Razr 2023 also known as Razr 40, Razr Plus 2023 known as Razr 40 Ultra, Razr 2024, Razr Plus 2024 known as Razr 50 Ultra. The update will also be provided for two devices in the ThinkPhone series, ThinkPhone and ThinkPhone 25.
While the list includes a large number of devices, there are some phones that were not included in the update such as the entire Moto G 2023 series, as well as the Motorola Edge 2023 and some versions of Moto G for 2022.
This move is part of Motorola’s efforts to improve its update policy, as the company has announced that it will provide Android and security updates for up to five years for devices like Edge 50 Neo and ThinkPhone 25, which is a clear improvement compared to the past. However, there is still a need for greater support for budget-friendly phones, like the Moto G series, which often only receive one major update.
In contrast, other companies like Samsung offer longer support for their new phones. The Korean company recently announced the Galaxy A16 phone, which will receive major and security updates for 6 years, reflecting Samsung’s superiority in providing long-term support even for budget-friendly devices.
