Exclusive New York City Art featuring Spiderman, Jones, and The Sustains

If you’re anything like us, you can never leave a big convention without having a tube of stickers filled with cool stuff. New York Comic Con is happening later this week, and as expected, artists and brands have all kinds of exclusive goodies coming to the event. There will be all sorts of games and collectibles at the convention, but we are drawn to limited edition art. Just to give you an idea of what’s in store, we’ve compiled a few of our favorite things.
First up, artist Truck Torrence, also known as 100% Soft, brings his unique art style to the world of Spider-Man. In this brand new 24 x 36 inch print, we can see Spidey facing off against all the most famous villains – everyone from Sandman and Rhino to Green Goblin and Venom and even J. Jonah Jameson. Can you spot them all?
Torrence told io9: “Spider-Man is one of my favorite superheroes, and his Rogue’s Gallery is, in my opinion, the best collection of villains ever.” “I wanted to create a print that celebrates them and Spider-Man as a unique hero in New York.” The print costs $200 and is priced at $60. It is available at booth number 1665 along with some new and exclusive awesome garbage fires. Read about all of them here.
One of our favorite artists, Jason Edmiston, is bringing his excellent collection of new artwork to the convention and you can see it all at booth 2058. We won’t highlight all of them, but here are just a few standout items. First, Edmiston takes on one of the best movies of this year, The Thing. “Pump It Up” is a 75-copy variant edition priced at $25.
Released as part of the show, but available online, is the Eighth Wonder of the World: King Kong. Eighth Wonder of the World is released as a signed and numbered timed edition for $250 either at the booth or on Edmiston’s website. It’s as big as Kong too, measuring 56 x 24 inches.
These are some of our favorite individual artists, but what about the galleries? Spoke Art has a lot of cool stuff coming to booth 1481 but here’s one… Godzilla by Matt Taylor. Check out this print and more at this link.
While we don’t like to talk about Mondo much after what Funko did to the company, I can’t deny that this Fool print designed by Dan Hipp is simply incredible. The 18 x 24 inch print costs $165 and is priced at $60 and is available at booth number 1000 along with a lot of other things. See it here.
Again, this is just a glimpse of what you’ll find on the ground at New York Comic Con this weekend. It’s at the Javits Center in New York City from October 17th to 20th. Keep an eye on io9 for more coverage.
