Discovery of over 200 apps infected with a dangerous virus on the Google Play Store prompts swift removal.

According to the security company Check Point, more than 200 Android apps available on Google Play have been infected with a malicious code named SimBad. It was integrated into the SDK used by developers themselves without their knowledge of what was really hidden.
This malware opened the door to installing adware programs, thereby bypassing Google’s protection measures. Users who have installed any affected apps may find ads outside the app, but there is also a possibility of redirecting users to specific websites that may be harmful.
The affected apps had gathered over 150 million downloads from the official Android app store. The full list can be accessed at the following link:

Note that these affected apps have already been removed from Google Play, although this does not mean they have also been removed from users’ devices, so if you have installed any of them, hurry to uninstall them immediately.
