Apple to produce fewer iPhone 13 units due to insufficient chips.

The Bloomberg report announced that a shortage of chips will directly affect the production of iPhone 13s in the remaining period of 2021.

According to the information, Apple planned to produce 90 million units of the entire iPhone 13 for the remaining period of 2021. However, this number will decrease to 80 million, which is a slight reduction of over 11%.

Despite one might think that the company is facing problems in getting its partners like TSMC to manufacture A15 Bionic processors, the issue will actually be related to other chips necessary for the phone’s operation managed by Broadcom and Texas Instruments.

Specifically, the chips responsible for managing screen power, the Face ID laser array, USB connectivity, and other control units will be essential.

This is not surprising given that Apple CEO Tim Cook already announced a few weeks ago that the company may face supply chain problems with several commercial partners, which may affect the production of various products.
