Easy and effective ways to improve the quality of calls on Samsung phones

It may be easy to forget that day, but the primary function of a smartphone remains to allow you to make your phone calls. While these phones continue to evolve in most areas, from high-resolution displays to advanced cameras, the problem of poor call quality still troubles users from time to time. Sometimes the other party may not be able to hear what you are trying to say, or vice versa, even when you are in an area with good cellular network coverage. Luckily, if you are a Samsung Galaxy user, there are some ways to enhance call quality so that you and the other party can hear each other clearly. Let’s shed light on them from the following lines.

Improving Call Sound Quality on Samsung Phones

1. Increase Call Volume

Let’s start with the easiest way that contributes to increasing the clarity of the other party’s voice in the call, which is to raise the volume of the ear speaker built into the phone during the phone call. If you want to listen more clearly and get a clearer sound from the person you are talking to, just press the side volume button while making the call. Keep pressing until the highest level is set. Alternatively, you can also switch the call to speakerphone to get better sound quality and clarity. But of course, this is not the only way to get better sound quality in calls. If you’ve tried it and it hasn’t worked, try the following options.

2. Activate Voice Focus Feature

Modern Samsung phones feature the “Voice Focus” feature, which works to improve the voice of the other caller and reduce background noise, allowing you to hear their voice clearly in noisy environments. Both parties can use the feature if their phones support it, leading to a noticeable improvement in sound quality for both parties.
You can enable the “Voice Focus” feature by default for all phone calls at the beginning of a call. All you have to do during the call is swipe down from the top of the screen to display the notification panel, then swipe down again to display the quick settings panel. Here you will find the “Mic mode” button, press it, then select “Voice focus” and press “Done”. This way, you have activated the feature to block surrounding noise and ensure that your voice reaches the other party clearly without interference. The feature remains active during subsequent phone calls, and there is no need to reactivate it when making a new call.

3. Activate Adapt Sound Feature

Samsung phones also feature a function that helps improve the overall sound quality of the phone, whether in calls or while listening to media. Simply open “Settings” and go to “Sounds and vibration,” then press “Sound quality and effects.” Here you will find a feature called Adapt Sound, which adjusts the sound according to your hearing capabilities. Press it and activate it to improve the sound quality of calls, even if it is only slightly.
After pressing the feature, you will find 3 age categories at the bottom to adjust the sound based on your hearing abilities. The first category is for people under 30, the second is for those between 30 and 60, and the third is for those over 60 years old. For more precision, press “Add personalized sound profile” to customize the sound quality according to your hearing abilities through a series of quick auditory tests.

4. Activate Wi-Fi Calling or VoLTE Feature

In addition to the adjustments that can be applied to the phone settings, achieving better sound quality in calls requires you to have a suitable network connection and relatively good speakers. So if you are making a call in an area with poor cellular network coverage, you may experience frequent sound cut-offs. If so, you can rely on the “Wi-Fi Calling” feature instead of cellular towers. We have already explained everything about this feature, but in general, by using this feature, you can make your calls and messages with high quality relying on Wi-Fi signal instead of the phone network, helping a lot if your phone network is weak or even nonexistent.
If your phone lacks the Wi-Fi Calling feature, you may find VoLTE within the settings, which also needs to be activated by going to “Settings,” then to “Connections,” and pressing on “Mobile Networks.” This feature helps improve call quality and enables the user to make high-definition calls, as well as make voice calls while browsing the internet over 4G. Fortunately, this feature is widely supported by service providers in Arab countries, so there is a good chance that call quality will improve once activated on your phone.

5. Clean the Microphone and Phone Speaker

Dust particles and dirt that seep into the phone’s speaker and microphone openings can negatively affect the sound quality, making the sound muffled or noisy. Cleaning the microphone and phone speaker is a bit more challenging than cleaning the screen due to the sensitivity of these internal parts, which must be handled with care to avoid damage. However, clearing these parts of dust and dirt is necessary to improve call quality.
