Due to Indiana Jones, Microsoft will slow down its release of games on competing platforms

After the official announcement that Indiana Jones is coming on December 9th and will be released on PS5 in spring 2025, this has angered Xbox players significantly. It seems that Microsoft has listened to these voices.

The leaker eXstas1s, who has proven to be somewhat reliable in the past, stated that Microsoft has listened to the angry reactions from Xbox platform owners regarding the release of Indiana Jones on PS5. As a result, they have changed their cross-platform strategy and will slow down the release of their games on competing platforms.

The leaker mentioned that Microsoft will not stop releasing Xbox exclusives on competing platforms but will delay them slightly on PlayStation. The reason for this was the poor reception of the quick release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS5, which came just a few months after the game was first released on Xbox Series X and S and PC.

Additionally, in response to an earlier rumor spreading on the internet earlier this week, series like Halo and Gears of War are still red lines that Microsoft will not cross at the current time, so we should not expect to see them on PlayStation anytime soon.

The announcement of the launch of the game Indiana Jones and The Great Circle on PlayStation 5 just a few months after its release on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC during the opening night of Gamescom this year was certainly surprising, as all of Microsoft’s previous releases on PlayStation, such as Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves, were not entirely new releases. However, it seems that Microsoft’s strategy has changed significantly in recent years after acquiring Activision Blizzard, so the release of some of their biggest games on PlayStation 5 is only a matter of time.

Furthermore, Microsoft’s CEO confirmed today that they will continue to expand their content to include new platforms. This means that more Xbox games are coming to PS5 and Switch.
