Do you fall asleep while watching Netflix? This new feature will benefit you.
I must admit one thing: yes, I am exactly the type of person who falls asleep while watching Netflix or any other similar platform. If you are like me, I must tell you that you might also be very lucky soon, because Netflix has a new feature planned that allows you to set a timer for playback.
According to XDA Developers, the popular streaming app included in an Android beta version a feature that allows users to set a specific playback time. For example, after 90 minutes, Netflix will stop playing the content and pause it.
The information gathered by XDA developers is based on a small part of the code (“Timer”) that translates to a timer in Arabic. Therefore, it is believed that very soon this option will appear available in the video player interface in future updates, although there is no confirmation from Netflix.
Currently, Netflix’s control mechanism when playing specific content involves a direct query about whether you are still present, which you must respond to by pressing the confirm button on the remote control. If there is no response, the application will stop working.
