Direct Online Windows Reinstallation Feature – Cloud Download

Reinstalling Windows is something we all fear, especially when your Windows on your device is full of problems and running abnormally slow, forcing you to reinstall Windows. There are many ways to do this – perhaps you use a Windows flash drive and reinstall Windows from scratch, or you use the Reset and Refresh options that we previously reviewed, or maybe you use our method to install Windows directly from the hard drive, making the process easier and faster. If you have a system recovery disk, you can also use it. However, today Microsoft has added what we have been waiting for – the option to reinstall Windows directly from the internet using the Cloud Download feature, which installs Windows from Microsoft servers. But of course, you need a good internet speed for this, so let’s review the process in detail.

Microsoft added this feature with the new Build 18970 release, so if you have an older version, you need to update it to add this feature. To use this feature, you can go to Settings, then Update & Security, then Recovery, and click on Get started under the Reset this PC option.

After that, you can choose to Keep my files or Remove everything, depending on whether you want to keep User Data or not – which are the settings files for programs and applications. Sometimes you may need to get rid of these files if the purpose of reinstalling Windows is to speed up the device or if the device is infected with viruses and, therefore, you want to get rid of all the settings files and any files that may be causing the slow performance or issues.

Then you’ll see the Cloud Download option, which requires 4 GB of your internet data to reinstall Windows, and obviously, it won’t work if your internet speed is not good.

The unique aspect of this method, which sets it apart from all other methods, is that the reinstallation is for the same version of Windows 10 on your device, so all updates are installed. With other methods, you may have to install older versions and then install a lot of updates before using it. However, you can overcome this by regularly downloading the latest versions of Windows 10 through the method we reviewed previously, so you can download the ISO file directly from Microsoft.

This method has been available on Mac for a long time, and it’s great that it has been added to Windows 10 now, as some people have super-fast internet speeds, making it easier for them to reinstall an updated version of Windows directly and at any time.
