Denuvo company confirms that its technology does not affect game performance

Denuvo is one of the most controversial anti-cheat software, but it is effective and used by video game developers. The digital rights management is known to impact game performance, but Irdeto – the company behind the program – strongly denies the prevalent rumors.

Irdeto officially addressed these claims in the FAQ section after setting up an official Discord server for Denuvo, discussing all major concerns raised by gamers over the years. The company claims that Denuvo does not affect game performance, using examples from various games to explain what actually led to changes in gameplay quality.

As noted by Twitter user @Pirat_Nation, the company claimed that the performance of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor improved only after developers modified the game through updates, not because the Denuvo protection was later removed.

The company also addressed several other games, including Resident Evil Village, Tekken 7, and Persona 5, stating that Denuvo is not the reason for their performance issues. However, many gamers remain unconvinced by Denuvo’s explanations and argue against using this program due to performance problems.
