Cyberpunk 2077 Audience Gives Game a Second Chance, Developer Responds
The audience of the game Cyberpunk 2077 gives it a second chance and the developer comments
The launch of the game Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020 in the condition it was in may have been the biggest mistake made by the CD Projekt studio, despite the huge financial resources allocated to the development of the game.
However, they fell into the trap of rushing and not fully respecting their audience, as they released the PC version ready to a large extent, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were completely disastrous and unable to handle the game’s performance. It seemed as though it was prepared at the last minute before a series of updates were released to address the technical issues that the development team tried to overcome.
They did succeed in this after several months of its global launch, and it has recently come back into the spotlight due to the release of the massive 1.6 update, through which many features and additions were provided at the gameplay level, alongside important fixes that the game underwent in its version on all devices.
Especially as the launch of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions somewhat relieved the pressure on developers to support the game properly, which was evident in the fact that the audience decided to give the game a second chance by trying it out. This was confirmed through recent statistics recorded by the Steam platform.
It recorded the highest rate of active players in Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time since January 2021, and the developer team confirmed that over a million players on all devices entered the game at least in one day, a fact that according to a tweet from the developer studio is heartwarming and confirms that they are on the right track to restore the game’s luster after an extremely disastrous launch.
They almost paid the price for it, and it is clear that the audience has decided to give the game another chance. This was first utilized by its availability at a reasonable price on PCs specifically through Steam, as its sales recently saw a significant jump to record 18 million copies sold before the launch of the first and final expansion, Phantom Liberty, which we have discussed in previous articles on our website. Surely, the support for the game will not stop as long as the audience is currently interested in it.
